Hand = 手 [shǒu]
Three ways to show a hand: trace it into a turkey, strike a Michael Jackson pose, or spell it in sign language, H-A-N-D. In Chinese it is simply 手.
手 (shǒu) means “hand.” It also appears in words for things you hold or work with your hands: 手机 (shǒujī), mobile phone; 手表 (shǒubiǎo), watch.
Count hands with 只 (zhī), or with 双 (shuāng) for a pair: 一双手, a pair of hands.
吃饭前要洗手。 — Chīfàn qián yào xǐ shǒu. — Wash your hands before you eat.
请举手。 — Qǐng jǔ shǒu. — Please raise your hand.
