Hurt = 受伤 [Shòu shāng]
A father and son sit on hospital waiting chairs: the son holds a bow, and the father has an arrow sticking out of his shoulder. Ouch, that is 受伤.
受伤 (shòushāng) means “to get hurt” or “injured.” 受 means to receive or suffer, and 伤 is a wound.
Say what got hurt before it: 他的腿受伤了 (tā de tuǐ shòushāng le), his leg is injured. For pain, use 疼 (téng): 我头疼, my head hurts.
你受伤了吗? — Nǐ shòushāng le ma? — Are you hurt?
他踢足球的时候受伤了。 — Tā tī zúqiú de shíhou shòushāng le. — He got hurt playing soccer.
